Since living in Barcelona, I have found Chinese Supermarkets to be an invaluable place for purchasing vegetarian food. There are different types of Tofu, much cheaper than the usual Health Food Shop prices, as well as a variety of gluten meat-substitute products. Also, a large number of the sauces are fish and meat-free (be sure to check those ingredients labels) and you will find a variety of nice surprises. And of course, they're a great place to buy noodles, rice, spices, and a vast array of other ingredients.
